Conducting

As a conductor, Dr. Gerling is known for her ability to bring out the best in every musician she works with. In all her years of conducting, she has been praised for the rich colors and depth of sound that she draws from her ensembles. 
Dr. Gerling began her conducting career in Heidelberg, Germany, during her undergraduate studies. She then continued to hone her skills under the tutelage of  Prof. Franz Krager at the University of Houston. In 2015, after completing her studies, Dr. Gerling took the position of Orchestra Director at San Jacinto College, and soon after she also accepted the position of Orchestra Director at the University of St. Thomas. She also had the privilege of conducting the Chamber Orchestra for the American Festival of the Arts in Houston.
